We think of Wikipedia as being a large collection of articles. But did you know (I didn’t until recently) that they also include portal pages? Portal pages gather scattered articles on a given topic onto one page. Here is an example of a portal page for Islam:

Getting on my soapbox: If we can get past our concerns about the reliability and authoritativeness of Wikipedia, then maybe we can actually appreciate this large scale example of distributed intelligence AND the very sophisticated and complex processes that have evolved to guide and monitor this collaborative process — a process that is happening on a truly global scale.
